Leavin’ Dallas

She said goodbye in Dallas town and then she disappeared,

So I took a walk in the pourin' rain to help forget my tears,

I wore my hat leather and black that she gave me one day,

When she told me that she loved me so and that she would always stay, yeah, the she would always stay, nay,

She told me that she loved me like she always made it known,

But there was business to take care of and she needed time alone,

She told me this was not the end, that we would be in touch,

She said it like she meant it but I did not know how much, no I did not know how much,

The pourin' rain did its best job to keep all my tears hid,

It covered me from head to toe just like her sweet love did,

I headed out of Dallas town I wouldn't walk Deep Ellum's streets,

Without the hand of my Dixie Queen she headed back to Tennessee, oh she headed back to Tennessee.
